IB: Why did you become a children’s books author/illustrator? Where you interested in stories and pictures as a child, or was it your own child that needed stories, or is it a way to make the world a better place to live?

CW: I have many stories that I want the kids to know about and I want to design communication through picture books with fun and stimulating ideas. With my books I also want to create new perspectives, creativity for a world that children in the future will need to take care of.

IB: Do you write/illustrate also for adults?

CW: Most of my works are children's picture books. My adult Writings are articles I write for a magazine.  Another part of my work is television programes for children.

IB: Do you believe that children’s books should be read by grown-ups as well?

CW: Yes, I believe that older children can read children's books, even though the view may change because of growing up.

IB: Do you remember when and where your first text/illustration was published and how it felt?

CW: My first book was printed in 1987. I was very excited and proud. It was a small step, but something I will never forget.

IB: Do you have a favorite among your books?

CW: I love all my books, but one very challenging book and also a favorite is “I LENG KENG KONG”.

IB: What are you working on right now?

CW: I am writing a new story about natural fantasy, a wordless book  called “MINNIM”.  I will bring sketches to show you in November!
